Departure Bay Dippers🌊 is an ocean plunging community, opening up more healthy pathways to be shared by all. By being present, challenging our minds and bodies, through the Play of Wild Cold Water Submersion, we are collectively cultivating mental wellness in our awesome community. Since September 2020, we’ve been feeling the benefits from this challenge, so we ultimately decided to launch Departure Bay Dippers🌊.

Food Donation Drop-Off on our Sunday 9am dips!
With every weekly plunge, consider dropping off food donations in our food bin. It will be delivered to our local food bank, Loaves and Fishes.
There’s opportunity to be involved in the Empties Sorting Program. It has BOOMED. Their 2020 grand total for donated empties was $230,384.80...’over a million dollars of food given out due to donated empties'.Quoted by their Volunteer Coordinator.

TEAM BUILDING + Involving our Youth
Our goal is to cultivate personal growth in our youth, the future caregivers of Our World. Our youth can be empowered by their own abilities and gain confidence to their full potential by diving into discomfort...learning to slow down, breathe, be in presence/nature, while discussing ways to give back to their community. Let's be in AWE, support our youth, young adults daily. Do you want to bring this to your sport, work, family, friend TEAM? Reach out!

Dynamic-Like Minded-Humans
Connection is so valuable in our lives, as we've seen during the Covid Pandemic. Let's show up, commit, live consciously while mood boosting effects build in our mind and body, as we submerge in the COLD. The endorphins increase in your body, giving you heightened energy to keep present and well.
Winter Cold Water Submersion: dipping-toes-to-top-of-head, treading, floating, swimming is an experience you’ll never forget. Join us in all seasons!

Keep Safe
Grab a partner, start a group…have someone at the beach with you. Always protect your feet~ wear old shoes or water shoes. If the ocean, nature looks unsettling…don’t go in. Create your own ice bath, or have a cold shower at home. If you have health concerns with cold water therapy, consult with a physician. Check out articles, research on Cold Water Immersion…a lot of great reading on this topic out there!
